Insights from India
Nov 24, 2019India has been whispering my name for many years. This November I was blessed to travel alongside some amazing souls to the vibrant country of India. A few of you have asked that I share some of my highlights…
We visited the Taj Mahal (majestic), the Lotus Temple (sacred), and allowed ourselves to soak up the bulk of our time participating in a Sattva Yoga Summit in the birthplace of yoga, Rickikesh, India.
Rickikesh is located along the River Ganga at the base of the Himalaya’s. The country is utterly breathtakingly beautiful and as promised, it invites you to look deeply into yourself, your heart and to declare what you are doing with this one beautiful life.
Take away #1
Love NOW, everything else later.
Believing in love requires a mental reprogramming.
Travel or uncontrolled experiences will help you surrender and find true meaning. Whenever you can’t rely on what you know/have/are used to, you expand into who you can become.
When you surrender your plans and release control, you allow the voice of your intuition and the energy of love to be your guide. You find love. You surrender. And you will crave to act in LOVE NOW, everything else later.
*Note: Helpful tip to put into practice. Book a trip! And stay tuned. 2020 Retreats - announced soon.
Take Away #2
Become aware of your subconscious rituals. Rituals are choices whether they are conscious or not.
I talk a lot about the importance of proactive rituals like yoga, meditation, gratitude journaling and walks in nature. However, we often don’t discuss the habit of unconscious rituals.
An unconscious or subconscious ritual is anything you are doing daily, regularly, hourly, at a set time, routinely, etc.. Often we do these not by choice but by habit. Some serve us (like brushing our teeth). Most don’t (like opening the fridge the second you get home).
Your rituals become how you live your life. How you act in this moment leads to a series of moments that dictate how you live your life. Live on purpose NOW.
*Note: A helpful tool to gain clarity into how you spend you time is to track every activity you participate in for a day or so. The truth of your life/choices will become clear quickly.
Take Away #3
Service is an act of self-love
Ambition is an act of discontent, or self-hatred
Let love be the vision. Nothing but love matters in this moment. When LOVE is truly the vision, there is no struggle. Love becomes a natural expression of who you are. You act in and from love. Your actions become a labor of love.
When you are acting from ambition, you act from a place of discontent and a belief that something is wrong. When you ALWAYS act from ambition you create a chronic state of discontent that often leads to resentment.
It’s great to make big bold moves to grow yourself if done from love. However, always hustling to get to some hopeful future goal, from the mindset of discontent of where you are, is frustrating, especially so if you never fully arrive. Contentment is available along the way if you choose to act from Love.
*Note: A helpful tip is to ask yourself, “Am I expressing the loving part of me in my daily life?”. If not, consider what needs to change for you to do so.
As I write this and reflect on the time I spent in India I realize I have much more to share.
Stay tuned & Sat Nam,
Hannah
