Get that #%&#! GONE!

Jan 17, 2020

Years ago I was inspired by a list by Seth Godin.  He wrote down all the things he was done with.

The idea of creating a list of what I don’t want, and lessening the load was refreshing in contrast to the usual approach of adding more To Do’s. Watching him unabashedly dump responsibilities that no longer served him gave me permission to do the same.   And oh what fun!

So often in my work, I recognize how deeply important it is to be given permission.  Permission to want what you want.  To like what you like.  To say you’re done when you’re done.   To ask for more.   To say NO or YES, and nothing else.  To love who you love.  To create distance.  To come closer.   To desire. To leave.

So, PERMISSION is granted.   You are the creator of your life.   And seems like no better time than to choose the GOOD.   And Lord knows we are all in need of a lighter load.

May you be clear as to what you are leaving behind in the past decade.

May you claim what won’t follow you into 2020.

Feel free to add or alter as it serves you.

My “I’m OVER it!”list:

I give up pretending I’m happy with mediocre (_____, love, friendship, fun, cleanliness).

I give up begging you to meet my needs.   I’m capable, and I can attract all that serves me.

I give up thinking I know better than you.

I give up any thoughts that try to convince me that we are different.

I give up second-guessing myself, doubt.  I give up mentally correcting something that has already happened.

I give up caring if you understand WHY it’s important to me.  It is.  That’s why.

I give up pushing when I need to rest.

I give up anxiety. All of it!   I vow to create/express instead.

I give up ignoring the voice of my instinct.   I give up listening to the lies in my mind.

I give up fearing there isn’t enough time.  I have all the time I need for all I need right now!

I give up rigidity. I give up gluten, and comparison and toxic cleaning products.

I give up any idea of proving myself, or waiting.  I definitely give up waiting.  The time is now.  The time is always NOW.

I give up, giving up.

….and to this moment I give…. Everything!

Let me know what you are getting rid of in the comments below!?
